A Statistical Identifier is an identifier generated via a [[Probabalistic|probabilistic] method. The inputs into the process are usually technographic characteristics of the web-enabled device or applications.
Benefits
Statistical identifiers are often used to detect non-human traffic.
Critiques of statistical identifiers refer to this process as "fingerprinting."
